Christmas is a time that joins people from all over the world, a celebration that invites us to share, reflect and renew our good intentions. At Kinder International School Bologna, Christmas is more than just a holiday: it is an international experience that allows us to celebrate different traditions and cultures, blending them into one great common story.

Every year, our school prepares with enthusiasm for this long-awaited event. On Saturday, December 14, Kinder’s doors will open to friends and family for an unforgettable day. This moment is made even more special by the Christmas play, an event that involves students and teachers, all united in the preparation of a show that represents the creative and educational soul of our school.
This year, the play focuses on profound and universal themes: What does it really mean to be free? How precious is our bond with the Earth?
Together with the students, we explored the concept of freedom and the desire to discover the unknown. We also reflected on climate change, a crucial issue for our future, and on the importance of taking care of our planet, inspiring in them the awareness that every action matters.
Significant historical moments
The preparation of the theater performance led us to relive significant historical moments, such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the first moon landing. These events, symbols of freedom and courage, pushed our students to think about what it means to overcome barriers and dream without limits. The fall of the Berlin Wall reminds us of how important it is to build bridges rather than walls, a message of unity that resonates deeply during the Christmas season, when the desire for peace and solidarity becomes more intense. The first moon landing, on the other hand, symbolizes the audacity of man in wanting to overcome the impossible, in looking to the sky and believing that every dream can come true. These moments were the starting point for discussing with our students how essential it is to have the courage to dream and face challenges to improve the world we live in.
Despite all the explorations and adventures, we wanted to convey a fundamental message: the beauty of coming home. Because, in the end, it is here, on our Earth, that we find our roots and a sense of belonging, and this becomes even more significant at Christmas, when all that matters is the closeness of the people we love.
